![]() ![]() If playing a vastly superior side Normal then Defensive may be better. I use attacking/mixed at home, and once 2 goals up, or 1 up near the end, go to Normal/short to keep the ball from your opponents. In the central squares make sure there's a wing-back or winger available to receive a pass out of the congested areas, quite near the touchline. If you find a midfielder from the other side is having too much impact, mark him with your hard man. ![]() The main points are to ensure you always have a tough midfielder with plenty of aggression and tackling, to protect the defences, set to zonal marking, no forward runs. If you are impatient, do it gradually during your pre-season friendlies, say attack first, then defence, and see the improvement in performances. The main thing I find is to virtually ignore the overview screen, set out a basic formation then go to work in the on/off ball screens, as the default formations are pretty awful. 4-1-3-2 shouldn't work so well on CM 01/02 as they tried to fix the problem of narrow super-formations, which means 4-4-2 is much more effective. ![]()
